Beach Boys musical visionary and music legend Brian Wilson and his band are endorsing Kustom Coupe® Series tube guitar amplifiers and Groove Bass® products.
Wilson recently took a rare step and hit the road to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Pet Sounds, the landmark album that Paul McCartney has called his all-time favorite album. Wilson called on some of the best backing musicians in the industry to help him recreate the precise, intricate and sometimes-mysterious sounds that made up that classic album 40 years ago.
To accomplish this demanding task, Wilson's three guitar players and bass player have chosen to use Kustom amplifiers exclusively for all of the band's live dates.
Musical Director and veteran Beach Boys hired gun Jeffrey Foskett, guitarist Nick "Wonder" Wolusko and guitarist Probyn Gregory are all playing Kustom '72 Coupe amplifiers to recreate the guitar sounds for Pet Sounds (which is played in its entirety during the show) and other famous Beach Boys songs that Brian is performing on the tour. The all-tube Coupe models provide 72 watts RMS, two channels, tremolo, vibrato and reverb effects, and Baltic Birch cabinet construction.
Bass player Bob Lizik is now using the 1,200-watt Kustom Groove Bass bass head and 410H bass cabinet exclusively.
Brian recently performed his Pet Sounds show at select venues in the United States and England as well as a performance at his induction into the U.K. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This year will see the Brian Wilson Band embark on an extensive full world tour.
