Kustom Amplification and its Chief Engineer James Brown are featured in an exciting new audio/video production entitled “Instrumental Innovators.” The Kustom episode was produced by WBA and is distributed worldwide by Mel Bay.
The “Instrumental Innovators” series focuses on the visionary individuals and companies that design and produce the guitars and amplifiers that have shaped the sounds of modern music. In addition to the Kustom episode, other WBA productions feature Hartley Peavey, Paul Reed Smith, Stuart Spector, First Act and others.
In the Kustom episode, James Brown relates his colorful past and bridges the gap between electronic theory and finished product in a manner that will fascinate both players and nonmusicians as well. Brown takes viewers on a tour of the facility where Kustom’s all-tube Coupe amplifiers are built in Cincinnati, Ohio, and explains the features of these popular amps.
The DVD also features Kustom endorsers Rob Fetters (Adrian Belew/The Bears) and legendary Telecaster® master Scotty Anderson, who illustrate amplifier features with plenty of hot playing and also discuss their guitar techniques and backgrounds.
WBA has produced a second DVD entitled “Instrumental Innovators: The Guitar Tone Collection” that combines the same Kustom audio/video content with interviews with Hartley Peavey and Benjamin Fargen.
